Of portable laptops and courses near the beach…
It was off to Port Dickson this recent weekend to attend a speech drafting course at the Corus "Paradise" Hotel. I just had the chance to spend my previous weekend at home before having to attend the course, and it’s the World Cup opening weekend… At least the classes ended at 10 p.m. so I managed to catch the Germany vs. Costa Rica match. 
However the classes took up most of my time in PD, I didn’t even get the chance to go swimming or to go to the beach… I only had a chance to see it from the hotel. Sad… sad…
I have to say, though, the course was useful. I always had a phobia when it came to writing speeches. Now that I have some idea of how to write a speech, I hope writing a speech won’t be much of a bother anymore. I know I would have to come up with a speech soon, maybe I will start early, while the course is still fresh in my memory.

This blog reminded me of the speech I had to write and give during a recent wedding. More so it reminded me of the time when Sira himself had not only to write and give a speech but to play MC for the entire wedding half a decade ago.
While my speech early this month was dry, Sira’s was quite good actually, all that you’d expect from a MC at a hotel wedding reception, with a sprinkle of humour thrown in tastefully.
Speech writing course?.. I’d say more of a refresher course for you buddy
