Of Tenpei Asuka and the Burokkaa Gundan 4 Mashin Burasutar
Once upon a time, when I was small (yes, I was small once) and watching cartoons on RTM (I still watch cartoons now but mostly on DVDs), there was an anime that still define my childhood and I guess most Malaysian males around my age group. A special time after school will be reserved to watch Blocker Gundan 4 Machine Blaster (Burokkaa Gundan 4 Mashin Burasutar) and its main hero Tenpei Asuka (or generally misprounounced as Tempe Asuka).
Ask any 30something Malaysian male about Machine Blaster and Tenpei Asuka and you will with certainty see their eyes glaze over and a smile form on their lips while they reach back to their childhood and remember images of vehicles combining into a robot and Tenpei Asuka’s origami aircraft made with excercise book paper.
For those who need help to reminisce those carefree younger days here’s a few place to start.
